The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2004 by Ard Al Zaafaran, a house rooted in the United Arab Emirates and known for its promise of the extraordinary, Shams Al Emarat Khususi is an Oriental Vanilla fragrance that weaves together warmth and complexity. The composition opens with bright notes of apple and mandarin orange, which give way to a heart of vanilla, rose, and ylang-ylang. These sweet florals are balanced by warm spices and woody accords like sandalwood and agarwood (oud), creating an enveloping musky base that lingers softly on the skin.
Apply two sprays to your pulse points — the mandarin top notes are bright but fade quickly, leaving the rich base notes like vanilla and oud to linger throughout the day. It’s best for daytime wear when the warm spiciness reads as inviting rather than overpowering.
