The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2010 by Bond No 9, Andy Warhol Montauk is a fragrance that captures the essence of the East End's coastal landscape through its complex blend of notes. Perfumer Laurent Le Guernec crafted this scent to evoke the fresh, woody, and fruity atmosphere of Montauk. The composition opens with a bright citrus note from bergamot, complemented by the sweet freshness of blueberry. As it evolves, bay leaf adds a subtle spice, while hyacinth and honeysuckle contribute floral warmth. The base notes of driftwood, oak, and amber create a grounding effect that brings to mind the rugged beauty of Montauk’s shores.
This fragrance is best applied in light layers. The top notes of bergamot and blueberry are vibrant but fleeting, so a second light pass can help extend their freshness. Allow it to settle for about an hour before venturing out — the woody base will bloom beautifully, providing a warm, grounded scent.
