Launched in 1922 by Jacques Guerlain for Guerlain, Bouquet de Faunes is a composition that blends the luxurious and rare materials for which the house is known. The fragrance opens with aromatic herbs like lavender and marjoram before transitioning into a heart of floral notes such as jasmine, rose, and ylang-ylang. At its core, Bouquet de Faunes features woody and animalic accords, including suede, civetta, and musk, creating an evocative blend that is both sophisticated and sensual.

Application Tips
Apply two sprays to pulse points for a lasting impression. The animalic base notes take time to develop fully on the skin, so it’s best not to layer heavily at first. This fragrance reads better in cooler temperatures when its woody warmth is most pronounced.

“When I created Shalimar, I was thinking of the great love stories — of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.”
Jacques Guerlain is one of the greatest perfumers who ever lived — the man who gave the world Shalimar, Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue, and Vol de Nuit. As the third-generation perfumer of the House of Guerlain, he elevated the family craft into high art. Working in the legendary Guerlain laboratory on the Champs-Élysées, he drew inspiration from love, literature, and travel to create fragrances of unprecedented emotional depth. Shalimar, inspired by the gardens of the Taj Mahal and his love affair with a woman whose identity remains mysterious, is perhaps the most celebrated perfume in history.
