Launched in 2020 by the Romanian niche brand Calaj Limited Editions, Transilvania is an Oriental Floral fragrance that marries sweet and musky notes with a touch of the animalic. Created by perfumer Miguel Matos, this composition opens with cherry and honey, which blend seamlessly into a heart of rose, jasmine, and tuberose. The base notes of civet, opoponax, agarwood (oud), and patchouli create an enigmatic warmth that is both comforting and slightly provocative. Transilvania captures the essence of Romanian elegance, combining classic florals with rich, enveloping musk and a hint of the wild.
Apply Transilvania to pulse points for a lingering warmth that blooms over time. The fragrance's honeyed top notes dissipate quickly, so it’s best experienced close to the skin rather than from across the room. It pairs well with light layers in cooler evenings.
