Launched in 2020 by François Demachy, Dior Homme 2020 reimagines the classic Dior fragrance with a cleaner, woodier profile. The original version from 2005 was defined by its buttery iris note, but this reformulation swaps that out for an aromatic and musky base of elemi, Atlas cedar, cashmere wood, and Haitian vetiver. This change sparked significant debate among fragrance enthusiasts, with some praising the modernity and others lamenting a loss of the original's distinctive character.
Dior Homme 2020 has a distinct shift from its bright citrus-aromatic opening to a deeper woody base. Apply it in layers for a more nuanced experience; the bergamot and pink pepper top notes are fleeting, but the vetiver and white musk provide lasting warmth.
