The story behind the bottle.
Dior Homme Intense by Dior was launched in 2011, created by perfumer François Demachy as an amplified version of the original Dior Homme. This fragrance centers around a bold iris note, which is both its defining feature and its point of contention among enthusiasts. The composition opens with lavender, bergamot, and sage, creating a fresh aromatic base that transitions into the heart notes of iris and cacao. These are anchored by an earthy, woody base of amber, leather, vetiver, and patchouli. Dior Homme Intense is often praised for its sophistication but can be seen as overly powdery or cosmetic by some, which makes it a benchmark in the 'iris/powdery masculine' category.
This fragrance features a strong iris note that can be overpowering if applied too heavily. One or two sprays are sufficient to let the powdery warmth develop naturally on your skin over time. It’s better suited for cooler evenings when the base notes of leather and patchouli come into their own.
