The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Miss Dior (2012) by Dior was launched in 2012 as a reformulation and renaming of the earlier Miss Dior Cherie line. Created by François Demachy, this fragrance is a chypre floral that evolves from a sharp, citrus opening with Italian mandarin to a heart of rose and Egyptian jasmine before settling into a musky base with patchouli. This version of Miss Dior stands out among collectors for its distinct character compared to both its predecessor and later reformulations.

The composition glides seamlessly from the freshness of mandarin to the floral richness of rose and jasmine, culminating in the warm embrace of patchouli and musk. It captures an elegant and spirited joie de vivre that is at once romantic and playful.

How to wear it

Apply two sprays at pulse points for a balanced wear throughout the day. The citrus opening is bright but fades within an hour, so allow time for the floral heart to emerge before venturing out. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than in a wide sillage.

François Demachy

Dior's guardian of dreams

François Demachy is the in-house perfumer-creator at Christian Dior, a title that places him among the most influential noses in the world. Born in Cannes and raised in Grasse — the historic capital of perfumery — he carries the craft in his blood.

“Early on, I memorised a whole host of notes without even realising it. I could recognise moss and flowers. My nose educated itself.”
