The story behind the bottle.
Patchouli Imperial, launched by Dior in 2018 and crafted by François Demachy, is a woody-oriental fragrance that balances the earthiness of patchouli with warm spices and amber. The composition opens with bright citrus notes from bergamot and mandarin orange, which quickly give way to the rich, smoky heart of coriander, cinnamon, and rose. Patchouli takes center stage in the base, where it is complemented by benzoin, cedar, sandalwood, tonka bean, and vanilla, creating a warm and enveloping aroma that feels both luxurious and grounding.
Apply this fragrance in moderation — its smoky base notes can be quite intense. A single spritz is often enough to create a lasting impression throughout the day. The warmth of the composition makes it ideal for cooler evenings or indoor settings.
