The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2002, Black Cashmere by Donna Karan is a fragrance that marries the luxurious feel of cashmere with an intriguing blend of fresh and warm spices. Created by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, it opens with nutmeg and saffron, adding a subtle metallic note to the mix. The heart introduces woody notes and rose, while the base settles into amber and patchouli, creating a warm and enveloping finish. This composition is designed for those who appreciate understated elegance and sophistication.
Apply this fragrance sparingly; the rich base notes take about an hour to fully bloom. It reads best close to skin rather than filling a room, so one or two sprays will do. Ideal for evenings when you want a subtle yet sophisticated scent.
