Launched in 2008, Essence Wenge by Donna Karan is crafted by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux and captures the essence of warm, woody spiciness. The fragrance opens with dark woodsy notes that create a grounding presence, leading into a heart of vanilla, sandalwood, and black pepper, which adds depth and warmth without overpowering. The base of spicy notes ensures a lingering warmth that lingers on skin long after the initial application.
One or two sprays are sufficient — the dark woody top notes give way quickly to the heart of vanilla and sandalwood. The base’s spicy warmth lasts well through the evening, making it ideal for a transition from day into night.
