Le Parfum Essentiel by Elie Saab was launched in 2020 and is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Created by perfumer Maïa Lernout, this composition opens with the bright zest of mandarin orange and the delicate sweetness of gardenia, before settling into a warm base of patchouli and cedar that adds depth and complexity. The lactonic and animalic notes in the heart create an intriguing tension between freshness and sensuality, making it a fragrance that evolves throughout the day.
Le Parfum Essentiel benefits from a light application — one spray to the wrists and neck. The mandarin orange top note fades quickly, but the patchouli and cedar base notes develop beautifully over time. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than in a room.
