The story behind the bottle.
Pure Poison by Dior, launched in 2004, is a floral fragrance crafted by Carlos Benaïm, Dominique Ropion, and Olivier Polge. It is praised for its bright, clean white-floral notes of jasmine and orange blossom, which read as both elegant and sexy. This scent stands out as the softest entry in Dior's Poison line, offering a more wearable alternative to the original 1980s powerhouse. The composition opens with citrusy freshness from bergamot and Sicilian mandarin before transitioning into a heart of jasmine and gardenia, ultimately settling into a base of white amber, cedar, sandalwood, and musk that adds warmth and sensuality.
One or two sprays are sufficient — the citrus top notes provide a bright opening that fades gracefully into the warm, powdery base. This fragrance is best suited for daytime wear when you want to make a subtle yet memorable impression.
