Sable Fume is a name that tells you everything: dark fur, rising haze. Giorgio Armani, the Italian house built on the idea that true luxury doesn't need to announce itself, applied that philosophy to a composition where cool, powdery iris sits inside a dense envelope of amber, balsam, and warm spice. The tension is the point — iris wants to be clean and architectural, but the smoke and balsamic base pull it into something more physical, more bodily. It reads as a scent you notice an hour after someone has left a room, not the one that fills it on entry.
Launched in 2015 as a unisex EDP, it carries the kind of quiet confidence Armani's tailoring always carried: the dark suit that looks expensive because it's cut well, not because it's loud. Moderate sillage, but the longevity is essentially permanent — a slow-release warmth rather than a statement, the kind of scent that lives on a wool coat for a week and lingers on skin for days.
Two sprays on the wrists or inner collar is more than enough — the amber and balsamic base is essentially permanent, and the moderate sillage keeps it intimate rather than room-filling. The powdery iris sits on top for the first hour or so; after that, the warmth underneath does all the talking. A single dab on a dark wool coat will carry the scent through a full week.
