Launched in 2025 by Maison Martin Margiela, Ideal One is a creation by perfumer Christophe Raynaud that marries the crisp clarity of citrus and aromatic notes with the enveloping warmth of woody and musky accords. The fragrance opens with elemi and Calabrian bergamot, bringing a bright freshness to the composition. This is soon complemented by lavender and orange blossom, adding layers of soft floral and herbal nuances. As it settles into its base notes, guaiac wood, oud, and vanilla create an enveloping warmth that feels both modern and lasting.

Ideal One has a strong initial presence with its citrus top notes, but these fade within an hour. The woody and musky base notes carry the scent for several hours, so apply it in layers if you want it to last through the evening. It pairs well with light outerwear, as the fragrance reads better close to skin than from a distance.
