Russian Leather by Memo Paris, launched in 2016 and crafted by perfumer Alienor Massenet, is a complex aromatic-woody composition that captures the essence of leather in all its nuanced layers. The fragrance opens with fresh spicy notes and green undertones, creating an initial burst of crispness before settling into a rich, warm base of woody and leather accords. This blend evokes the lasting quality of well-worn leather, combining both the sharp freshness of new hide and the deep, comforting warmth of something that has been cherished over time.
Russian Leather is best applied in light layers, allowing the rich base notes to emerge gradually. The aromatic top notes dissipate quickly, so a second application after an hour can help maintain that fresh-spicy introduction while enjoying the deep leather warmth close to skin.
