The story behind the bottle.
Over The Musk by Mugler was launched in 2014 and crafted by Jean-Christophe Hérault and Olivier Polge. This unisex EDP is a harmonious blend of musky, woody, and powdery accords, balanced with floral and fresh spicy notes. The opening is crisp and aromatic, thanks to the bright spice that cuts through the air before settling into the warm embrace of its heart and base notes. Over The Musk was designed to create an atmosphere of quiet confidence, where musky warmth meets woody depth, offering a scent that feels both familiar and distinctive.
Apply Over The Musk sparingly — its base notes bloom slowly and last throughout the day. It's best for daytime wear when you want a scent that evolves subtly with your surroundings.

Jean-Christophe Hérault
A teenage bottle of Joop, and a mentorJean-Christophe Hérault is a senior perfumer at IFF based in Paris, whose interest in fragrance began as a teenager after receiving a bottle of Joop! Homme. He later met legendary perfumer Pierre Bourdon, who agreed to mentor him into the craft.
