Launched in 1992 by Patricia de Nicolai for Nicolai Parfumeur Créateur, Vie de Chateau is a chypre fragrance that blends green and earthy notes with woody accords. The composition opens with fresh grass and grapefruit, giving way to the warmth of hay and tobacco. Fern and oak moss add a deep, mossy quality, while patchouli and leather contribute an earthy depth. This scent is neither traditionally feminine nor masculine but rather a unisex creation that evokes the essence of a lush garden at dusk.
Apply Vie de Chateau lightly — its long-lasting base notes ensure it stays close to your skin throughout the day. The fresh spicy top notes are prominent for the first hour, so a light spritz in the morning allows you to experience both the opening freshness and the deeper earthy heart.
