Santa Maria Novella's Sandalo is a composition that balances freshness and warmth through its aromatic and woody accords. The fragrance opens with the vibrant brightness of lemon and bergamot, which are quickly complemented by the herbal notes of thyme. As it develops, rose adds a subtle floral touch, while sandalwood forms the heart of the scent, grounding the composition in a warm and inviting embrace. Benzoin and patchouli contribute an earthy richness that anchors the fragrance with depth.
One or two sprays are sufficient — the bright citrus top notes fade within an hour, but the warm sandalwood base lingers throughout the day. This fragrance reads better close to skin than in a wide sillage.
