Launched in 2016 by Andy Tauer for Tauerville, Hyacinth and a Mechanic is a fragrance that juxtaposes the fresh floralcy of hyacinths with the rugged warmth of leather and musk. The opening notes of green, fresh spicy, and rose create an unexpected tension, leading to a heart where animalic and woody accords blend seamlessly into a base that feels both earthy and intimate. This composition is neither purely floral nor solely leathery — it’s a complex interplay of contrasts that captures the essence of a well-worn, yet refined space.
Apply Hyacinth and a Mechanic sparingly — the floral opening can be overwhelming if overapplied. Allow it to settle for about ten minutes before heading out, as the base notes take time to bloom fully. This fragrance works best in cooler weather when its earthy warmth is most noticeable.
