Launched in 2012 by Xerjoff, Alexandria II is a woody amber fragrance created by perfumer Chris Maurice. This composition opens with palisander rosewood and lavender, creating an aromatic warmth that transitions into the heart of cinnamon, apple, rose, and cedar, before settling into a rich base of oud, sandalwood, amber, vanilla, and musk. Alexandria II holds near-mythical status among fragrance collectors, often described as a rite of passage into high-end niche oud perfumery. It is praised for its refined take on oud, avoiding the harsh medicinal or barnyard notes associated with more traditional renditions.
