The story behind the bottle.
Aubres (The Fortnum Mason Exclusive) by Xerjoff, launched in 2019 and crafted by Chris Maurice, is an aromatic citric fragrance that captures the essence of a crisp, invigorating day. The composition opens with bright lemon and bergamot, which are seamlessly interwoven with green notes and elemi to create a fresh, spicy character. As it evolves, thyme, basil, and lavender add herbal depth, while smoke and incense introduce a smoky undertone that contrasts beautifully with the balsamic richness of patchouli.
This fragrance is best applied in moderation — one or two sprays are sufficient to allow its layered notes to unfold naturally. It's particularly well-suited for cooler weather, as the smoky and balsamic elements read better in a less overwhelming environment.
