The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2023 and crafted by perfumer Alberto Morillas, Virtuous Oud by Zara is an intriguing composition that balances freshness with warmth. The fragrance opens with a vibrant citrus-aromatic duo of bergamot and lemon, enhanced by the aquatic freshness of calone. This bright beginning makes way for a heart of lavender and flowers, adding a layer of complexity before settling into a rich base of oud, ambroxan, white musk, vetiver, patchouli, and sandalwood. The result is an olfactory experience that oscillates between the crispness of citrus and the depth of woody notes, creating a dynamic interplay throughout its wear.
This fragrance is best applied in two to three sprays on pulse points. The citrus and aromatic top notes are bright but fleeting, so allow them to settle before venturing out. The rich base notes will develop over time, making it perfect for daytime wear.
