Roja Dove, born Roger Bird in 1956 in Sussex, was captivated by scent from childhood, later abandoning a medicine degree at Cambridge after a visit to the Guerlain boutique in Paris changed the course of his life.
In 1981 he joined Guerlain's Training and Public Relations Department, becoming the first non-Guerlain family member and first non-French nose to create fragrances for the house during his nearly twenty-year tenure, ultimately appointed Global Ambassador and dubbed the 'Professeur de Parfum.' After leaving Guerlain he founded RDPR and later Roja Parfums, opening the Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie at Harrods in 2004.
