Juliet, armed with a gun

Romano Ricci, born in 1978, is the great-grandson of designer Nina Ricci and grandson of Robert Ricci, who created L'Air du Temps — yet he chose to become a self-taught perfumer rather than lean on his fashion pedigree.

Romano's story

The story

He honed his craft for seven years alongside Francis Kurkdjian, Isabelle Maillebiau, and Pierre Bourdon before founding the feminine fragrance house Juliette Has a Gun in 2007, its name reimagining Shakespeare's Juliet as a modern, armed symbol of female liberation. He is also a co-founder of the brand Nose.

In their own words

How Romano works

Signature

Romantic, modern, and playful compositions built around a philosophy of perfume as seduction and self-definition.
