Our Story

Jean-Claude Ellena and Thierry de Baschmakoff founded The Different Company in Paris in 2000 to create fragrances outside the commercial mainstream — small quantities, natural materials, a resolutely artisanal approach. Since 2005, Ellena's daughter Céline has led the creative direction, bringing her own voice to a house built on her father's principles. Bois d'Iris, Une Nuit Magnétique, Tihota — each one is a quiet argument for restraint over spectacle.
