As the in-house perfumer of Hermès from 2004 to 2016, he created the celebrated Jardin series, Terre d'Hermès, and Un Jardin sur le Nil, each a masterclass in restraint and evocation. Born in Grasse, the historic heart of perfumery, Ellena is also a celebrated author whose books — including Perfume: The Alchemy of Scent — have opened the world of fragrance creation to a wide audience. His approach is deceptively simple: fewer ingredients, more meaning.
