Maverick by Aaron Terence Hughes is a fragrance that defies convention, much like its namesake suggests. Launched in 2021, it opens with a bright citrus-aromatic burst from lemon and bergamot, which contrasts sharply against the warm vanilla and tonka bean heart. The base notes of patchouli and cedar add depth and earthiness, creating an unexpected blend that is both fresh and comforting. This composition stands out for its balance between vibrant top notes and rich, grounding base accords.
Apply two sprays to ensure the bright citrus notes have enough room to mingle with the warmer base accords. The fragrance blooms fully after about an hour, so it's best not to layer heavily initially. It pairs well with casual wear and works beautifully in both indoor and outdoor settings.
