Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2018 by Chanel, this Red Edition of No. 5 Eau de Parfum is Jacques Polge's reimagining of a classic. The fragrance opens with aldehydes and bright citrus notes like bergamot and ylang-ylang, creating an immediate sense of freshness and modernity. As it settles, the heart unfolds with soft florals — jasmine, rose, and lily-of-the-valley — before the base notes of sandalwood, vanilla, oakmoss, vetiver, and patchouli provide a warm, enveloping finish.
Given its long-lasting nature and moderate sillage, a single generous spritz is sufficient. Allow it to settle for about five minutes before heading out — this allows the heart notes to fully integrate with the top and base layers.
