HeartThe Soul
The story behind the bottle.
Fleur de Peau by Diptyque, launched in 2018, is a fragrance that has carved out its own niche with whispers of whispered sensuality and sophisticated restraint. Created by Olivier Pescheux, it balances dewy florals like Turkish rose and iris against the warm embrace of leather and musk. The pink pepper and aldehydes shimmer at first contact, giving way to a powdery heart that blooms with grace before settling into a rich woody base of amberwood and sandalwood. Praised for its refined, musky-iris take on the 'skin scent' genre, it has built a devoted following among those who prefer their fragrance as a secret. Yet, some critics argue it is overpriced relative to its subtle character, noting that it can pull unexpectedly bitter on certain skin chemistries.
Given its moderate longevity and sillage, apply one or two sprays and let it settle on your skin for at least five minutes before stepping out. This allows the powdery heart notes to fully integrate with your natural warmth, creating a more seamless effect.
