Launched in 2009, D&G Anthology Le Bateleur 1 by Dolce&Gabbana is an aromatic and woody fragrance that marries fresh spiciness with aquatic notes. The composition opens with juniper berries and cardamom, creating a crisp and vibrant beginning that transitions into the heart of birch and coriander. The base notes of Virginia cedar, vetiver, and olibanum offer a grounding warmth, while water notes and leather add depth and complexity.
One to two sprays is sufficient — the aromatic top notes are bright but fleeting. The woody base notes take time to bloom, so this fragrance reads better close to skin rather than filling a room. Best for daytime wear when the freshness complements natural surroundings.
