The story behind the bottle.
Mississippi Medicine by DS&Durga, launched in 2011 and crafted by David Seth Moltz, is a woody, smoky fragrance that draws inspiration from the rituals of the proto-Mississippian death cult of the 1200s. The composition opens with birch tar and incense, creating an atmosphere of ancient rituals, before settling into a heart of violet and white spruce. The base notes of cypress root and leather add depth and warmth, making it a complex and evocative scent.
Given its moderate longevity and sillage, Mississippi Medicine is best applied in moderation. A light spritz on the wrists and neck allows the scent to evolve naturally throughout the day without overpowering. It pairs well with warm weather but can also add depth during cooler months.
