Velvet Iris by Essential Parfums was launched in 2025 and is a creation by the renowned perfumer Dominique Ropion. This Woody Floral Musk fragrance opens with a fresh burst of Buchu or Agathosma, pink pepper, and tamarind before settling into the heart of orris and iris. The base notes of saffiano leather, sandalwood, and labdanum add warmth and depth, creating a composition that feels both modern and lasting. Velvet Iris is an ode to the complexity and elegance of iris, enveloped in powdery, woody, and warm-spicy nuances.
Apply Velvet Iris with a light hand; the orris and iris notes are particularly potent and can linger for hours. This fragrance is best enjoyed close to the skin rather than broadcasted across a room, making it ideal for an intimate evening or a day at the office.
