The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Mathilde Bijaoui launched Malaise of the 1970's by Etat Libre d'Orange in 2012, capturing a distinctive era with daring and unconventional notes. The composition opens with bright citrus and fresh spicy accords that cut through an aldehydic top note, creating a tension that is both crisp and provocative. As the scent unfolds, warm spices and leather mingle with patchouli to evoke a sense of worn elegance, grounded in the earthy warmth of its base.

How to wear it

This fragrance is best applied in two sprays. The bright citrus top notes are fleeting but impactful, making way for the rich base that slowly reveals itself over time. It’s perfect for an evening out when you want a scent that evolves throughout the night.
