True Lust Rayon Violet De Ses Yeux by Etat Libre d'Orange is a daring and unconventional composition that embodies the brand's reputation for pushing boundaries. Launched in 2015, this fragrance opens with a striking blend of violet and rum, creating an unexpected contrast between floral sweetness and boozy warmth. The heart notes of rose, osmanthus, and ylang-ylang add layers of complexity before settling into a base of leather, sandalwood, and ambergris that reads as animalic and powdery.
One to two sprays on pulse points is enough, as the rum and violet notes are quite potent. The fragrance develops over time, so it’s best applied an hour before leaving for a night out. This scent reads better close to skin than in a room, making it perfect for intimate encounters.
