The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2017 as a collaboration between Etat Libre d'Orange and fragrance critic Chandler Burr, You Or Someone Like You is an unapologetically daring composition. The fragrance opens with a sharp burst of green notes, mint, and grapefruit, creating an arresting freshness that feels both invigorating and slightly unsettling. As the citrus fades, a subtle rose and hedione add warmth to the mix, but it's the green, minty-citrus character that defines its identity. Some reviewers have noted this distinctive early profile can evolve into something soapy or toothbrush-like over time, yet others find it distinctively refreshing.
One spray is enough to capture its initial burst of freshness. It's best applied in the morning when its green-citrus notes are most vibrant. The soapy quality that emerges later can be more noticeable as the day progresses, making it a scent better suited for daytime than evening wear.
