The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1989 by Etro, Patchouly is an Oriental Woody fragrance that embodies the brand's Italian elegance and refinement. The composition opens with bright citrus notes of bergamot and orange, before giving way to a heart of geranium and rose, adding a touch of floral warmth. The base is dominated by patchouli, sandalwood, and cypress, creating an earthy and balsamic finish that is both grounding and captivating.
Apply this fragrance sparingly — the rich base notes take time to bloom and can feel overpowering if used too heavily. It pairs well with cooler weather but also adds a touch of warmth on milder days.
