The story behind the bottle.
Cuir Celeste Par Mathieu Cesar by Ex Nihilo is a fragrance that balances contrasting elements to create a distinctive olfactory experience. Launched in 2018, this composition opens with the fresh green notes of violet leaf and galbanum, providing a crisp and vibrant start. The heart introduces an aromatic complexity with black pepper, sage, and ambrette, giving way to the floral nuances of osmanthus and jasmine. The base is anchored by leather, akigalawood, white musk, patchouli, and cypriol oil, creating a warm and enveloping finish that reads as both earthy and celestial.
Apply two sprays for a balanced wear — the green and aromatic top notes are bright but fleeting. The musky and woody base develops over time, so it’s best to let it settle before heading out. This fragrance reads better close to skin than in a wide sillage.
