Edward Bodenham created Chypress for Floris in 2017, a brand with roots dating back to 1730 and known for its restrained elegance. This fragrance opens with bright citrus notes of neroli, bergamot, sweet orange, and lemon, bringing a fresh, vibrant energy. The heart of the scent features floral accords like osmanthus, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and rose, which add a delicate sweetness and warmth. The base notes of musk, patchouli, amber, and vanilla create a rich, enveloping backdrop that grounds the composition in earthy depth.
Chypress has a quick transition from its bright opening to a warmer base. Apply two sprays to allow enough time for the citrus top notes to meld into the floral heart before settling into the musky base. This fragrance is best suited for daytime and early evening, where it can evolve gracefully throughout the day.
