The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2010 by Frederic Malle, Portrait of a Lady Hair Mist is an Oriental Floral fragrance crafted by Dominique Ropion. This composition opens with the bright freshness of black currant and raspberry, adding a fruity vibrancy that contrasts beautifully with the warm spices like cinnamon and clove. The heart of rose brings a classic floral touch, while patchouli adds earthy depth. The base notes of incense, benzoin, amber, sandalwood, and musk create a smoky, balsamic warmth that lingers softly on skin.
This fragrance is best applied to your hair rather than skin for a gentle diffusion. The fruity top notes are fleeting, so aim for an initial spritz that catches the essence before it fades into the deeper, warmer base notes.
