Encens Flamboyant by Goutal is a fragrance that captures the essence of incense in all its complexity. Launched in 2007 and crafted by perfumers Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen, this composition opens with fresh spicy notes like pink pepper and red berries before transitioning into an aromatic heart of sage and cardamom. The base is a warm blend of incense, nutmeg, balsam fir, and mastic, creating a smoky, woody atmosphere that lingers on the skin.
Apply Encens Flamboyant directly to pulse points — it blooms slowly on skin. The smoky base notes take time to develop fully, so give it at least an hour before you reassess its projection. Best worn in cooler months when the warmth of incense is most comforting.
