Launched in 2013 by Hugo Boss and crafted by perfumer Michel Girard, Hugo Red is a blend of fruity, sweet, and aromatic notes that capture the essence of modern elegance. The fragrance opens with metallic notes and grapefruit, creating an immediate sense of freshness and sophistication. Pink pepper adds a subtle spiciness, while galbanum and rhubarb introduce a green, earthy undertone. As it develops, pineapple brings a sweet, tropical contrast to the composition, balanced by the woody warmth of cedar and amber. Tonka bean rounds out the base with its warm, vanillic sweetness.
Hugo Red has a bright opening that fades within an hour, so apply two sprays to ensure its sweet and woody base notes have time to develop. It's best suited for daytime wear when you want a fresh, modern scent that evolves throughout the day.
