The Story

Iris Poudre Hair Mist by Frederic Malle is a fragrance that embodies the sophisticated elegance of its French heritage. Created by Pierre Bourdon, this composition balances floral freshness with powdery warmth, starting with bright citrus notes like bergamot and orange that give way to the delicate white florals of lily of the valley and magnolia. At its core, iris and aldehydes create a powdery heart, while base notes of sandalwood, vanilla, and amber add depth and richness. This fragrance is a proof of Frederic Malle's commitment to showcasing the artistry of perfumery.

Application Tips

For the best experience, apply a light mist to your hair rather than directly on skin. The fragrance will softly envelop you throughout the day without overpowering. It pairs particularly well with warm tones like cashmere or velvet.

Pierre Bourdon portrait

As Edmond Roudnitska’s only student, Pierre Bourdon was informed early on by the philosophy that perfumes should be created as works of art. With this in mind, Pierre went on to revolutionize perfume trends in the 1980s with his men’s perfume “Cool Water” for Davidoff. That was when he met Frédéric Malle. Having realized that they shared the same vision of perfume making, the two became like family to one another. It was obvious to Frédéric, when he created Editions de Parfums, that Pierre should compose its first perfume, Iris Poudre.
