Magie Noire Parfum, launched by Lancôme in 1978 and crafted by Gérard Goupy, is an Oriental Floral fragrance that weaves a complex blend of woody, green, amber, aromatic, earthy, warm spicy, balsamic, and animalic accords. The composition opens with galbanum and cassis, leading into a heart of Bulgarian rose, hyacinth, and raspberry, before settling into a rich base of oakmoss, myrrh, spices, incense, civet, patchouli, ambergris, sandalwood, vetiver, and musk. This fragrance is neither purely floral nor woody but rather a dynamic interplay between the two, making it stand out for its depth and complexity.
