The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Launched in 1936 by Lancôme, Peut-être (1937) is a fragrance that embodies the elegance and sophistication of its time. Created by Armand Petitjean, it opens with a delicate bouquet of lilac, lily-of-the-valley, and orange blossom, leading to a heart of orris and Grasse rose. The base notes of sandalwood, cedar, and musk add warmth and depth, creating a harmonious blend that feels both classic and lasting.

Peut-être (1937) captures the essence of French refinement, with its powdery and woody accords evoking images of an opulent Parisian salon. The fragrance’s rich layers make it suitable for those who appreciate the subtleties of fine perfumery.

How to wear it

Apply two sprays to your pulse points. The fragrance blooms slowly over time, so it’s best enjoyed close to the skin rather than diffused in the air. It's particularly suited for evening wear when you want a subtle yet enduring presence.
