The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Vetyver (2003) by Lanvin is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men, launched in 2003 and crafted by François Robert and Lena Pierottie. The composition opens with a vibrant citrus-aromatic blend of lime, bergamot, lemon, and bitter orange that cuts through the air with freshness. This bright beginning leads to a heart of juniper, caraway, nutmeg, cloves, and jasmine, creating an interplay between green freshness and warm spices. The base notes of vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, amber, and musk ground the scent in earthy warmth, making it both contemporary and lasting.

How to wear it

This fragrance blooms gradually — apply two sprays and let it develop over time. The top notes are bright but fleeting, while the earthy base notes take about an hour to fully emerge. Best for daytime wear when you want a scent that evolves with your surroundings.
