Abyssis by Les Liquides Imaginaires, launched in 2022 and crafted by perfumer Shyamala Maisondieu, invites you into a world of aquatic depth and warm spice. The scent opens with the sharp clarity of black pepper and white pepper, creating an initial tension that is both fresh and spicy. This crispness soon gives way to a heart of ambroxan and styrax, adding a balsamic warmth that softens the edges without losing its edge. The base notes of calypsone, cedar, sandalwood, and cosmone provide a woody, musky foundation, grounding Abyssis in a powdery, ambery embrace.
This fragrance blooms gradually, so a light initial spritz is advised. Allow it to develop on your skin over time rather than layering heavily at once. The spicy freshness in the top notes fades within an hour, but the powdery woods and musk linger longer, making this perfect for daytime wear.
