The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2019, Tapis Volant by Les Liquides Imaginaires is a fragrance that weaves together the powdery elegance of iris with warm spicy notes and earthy undertones. Perfumers Quentin Bisch and Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié have crafted a composition that opens with the brightness of bergamot and carrot seeds before transitioning into a heart of jasmine and aldehydes, all anchored by a base of sandalwood, tonka bean, and vetiver. This unisex scent is an exploration of contrasts — crisp and warm, floral and spicy, airy and grounded.
Tapis Volant's aldehydes fade quickly, so an initial heavy spritz ensures that the heart notes have time to develop. The earthy base is best experienced close to skin rather than from a distance; it blooms slowly over several hours.
