The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2026 by Matière Première, Metal Lavender is a creation by perfumer Aurélien Guichard that challenges the conventional notion of lavender. The fragrance opens with an unexpected twist: a musky and powdery accord that contrasts sharply with the fresh lavender heart. This juxtaposition creates a distinctive aromatic tension, as if the crispness of lavender is anchored by a subtle metallic undercurrent, giving it an edgy, modern edge. As the composition settles into its woody and amber base notes, Metal Lavender transforms into a warm, enveloping scent that feels both familiar and new.
Apply Metal Lavender lightly to pulse points; its musky opening notes are strong and can be overpowering if used too generously. The woody base takes time to bloom, so give it at least an hour before reapplying for a more balanced experience.
