The story behind the bottle.
Ginger is what keeps Ruby Red from tipping into simple fruity-sweet territory — it shows up early alongside the red fruits and stays sharp enough to cut through the vanilla orchid and cinnamon in the heart. Without it, this would read as a fairly straightforward gourmand; with it, there's a warm bite running underneath the sweetness the whole time. Patchouli and sandalwood in the base add weight rather than more sugar, so the fragrance ends up rounder and a little spicier than its bright red-fruit opening suggests.
The red-fruit opening is vivid but doesn't last long, so a second spray a few hours in keeps that ginger-fruit brightness going. The patchouli-sandalwood base builds slowly and lasts well into the evening, so less is needed than the sweet opening suggests.
