The story behind the bottle.
Modoc by Xerjoff, launched in 2009 and crafted by perfumer Jacques Flori, is a Woody fragrance for men that balances earthy depth with an aromatic freshness. The composition opens with the distinctive floral note of iris, which immediately sets a refined tone. This gives way to vetiver, bringing a grounding, slightly woody aroma, before settling into a base of musk that adds warmth and sensuality. Modoc is neither loud nor ostentatious; it reads as a sophisticated blend that speaks volumes without trying too hard.
Two sprays are sufficient to capture Modoc's nuanced layers. The iris note is bright but fleeting, so it’s best applied in the morning to allow the vetiver and musk to develop throughout the day. This fragrance works well close to skin rather than diffusing into a room.
